Foodie Files: Cherry Crest Seafood
Sometimes some of the best food is right in your neighborhood. For a quick Denver Restaurant Week bite, I ventured to Cherry Crest Seafood Restaurant and Market. Again, this is a place I passed by frequently, but falsely assumed it was solely a seafood market. Located off S. University Blvd., Cherry Crest Seafood is a quaint little spot. For Restaurant Week, they offered a 3-course $25 dinner. To start, naturally I had options of a house salad or their chowder. Their salad was a nice size and refreshing to start.
Now for the entree, I ordered the lobster tail which came with rice and more veggies. Look at the size of that tail!! I was expecting much smaller for Restaurant Week. It was meatier than I expected, well-seasoned, and the compound butter made it perfect.
For dessert, I had the options of cheesecake and apple cobbler. This was one of the best cobblers I had. It was fresh, hot, and served with fluffy whipped cream.
Overall, it was just what I needed to get my seafood fix for an affordable price. The place is charming and the waitstaff were lovely, and enjoyed being their. Also, that lobster tail was much bigger than other restaurants! I will definitely visit Cherry Crest Seafood again.
