Out on the Town: Deka Lash
Lashes on fleek!
I received an influencer promotion for an full set of lash extensions from Deka Lash. I noticed the new Deka Lash being built during a few recent trips to the Lowry shopping center and looked forward to checking out their work. I easily booked my appointment by phone and arrived to the very glam location for my appointment.
After some initial paperwork, I met with Brittany who would be applying my lashes. She escorted me to her cute station for my consultation. Wow! I didn't realize lash extension application was such a science. First, we reviewed my allergies, then Brittany asked me several questions about about the type of look I wanted. Then we reviewed several more questions and she assessed the shape of my face and eyes. Given the responses and calculations, I was offered three options that would best suit my needs. I went with the modified cat eye with a dramatic (D) length. Now it's time to get to work!
I got comfortable and soothing collagen patches were placed on my under-eyes, and my bottom lashes were taped down so they didn't get in the way. The whole process probably took an hour as each individual lash was glued on. The lashes were already lightweight and I could barely feel them.
And we're done! The look was perfect!!! The lashes came out nice and long—better than any mascara. The look wasn't too dramatic for every day wear. Brittany sent me home with take-home instructions (i.e., don't get them wet for 48 hours, avoid harsh cleansers) and a spoolie for maintenance. Refills are supposed to be done approximately every 2 weeks, as 2-3 lashes shed each day. At the time of this writing, I'm two weeks in and they still look great!
Overall, I liked my experience with Deka Lash. Brittney did some great work and I look forward to getting refills or a more dramatic look (aka lush) for special events.
