Prison Break: S5 E5 Contingency
We have an action-packed episode with the men on the run. Let's go!:
We opened with Sarah calling her husband—luckily T-Bag is nearby to show her the photo of her husband with the assassins. Sarah is in denial for two seconds and takes off running to get Michael Jr! Sarah gets to their safe house and grabs her son pretty quickly, but as they are headed to the car, her husband arrives. Sarah immediately confronts her husband with the photo. WHY?!?!?! He’s making up a bunch of excuses. *sings Why you always lyin’?!?!* Luckily, Sarah takes off.
Meanwhile, Michael, Lincoln, and the crew are dodging the ISIL folks who are coming after them while funeral service for Abu Ramal is occurring. All of the safe harbors are going to be destroyed and there is a $10M bounty for their capture. The team gathers together to think about an approach—they must get to the airport before it shuts down. Before they continue, Lincoln wants an explanation for Michael’s re-appearance! We have a flashback to happier times with Michael and Sarah where he gets a call from Poseidon folks who need help breaking out terrorists from prisons in order to get the Fox River/Panama prison crew exonerated. He couldn’t make contact with any of them as a strong condition. Great play on the explanation of Michael’s “death,” writers!
C-Note, Sheba, and her family are trekking their way through the airport in hopes of getting on a plane. He has to take a few folks down! “You kick a lot of ass for a Muslim,” Sheba says.
Instead of getting on the next flight out of town, Sarah goes to her friend’s house to chit chat. *eye roll* Her husband even calls her friend’s house and leaves a message on the answering machine—the most unrealistic scene of the series. Who still has an old school answering machine??? Sarah and her friend head to the university to confirm her husband’s story. Random guy confirms the story. Her friend gets a call from Sarah’s husband, which Sarah picks up. He’s asking her to come to the police station immediately. She heads to the police department and the detectives have a line-up available for her to pick out the shooters, who are actually there! Sarah’s hubby continues to make apologies for not including her on his plans. She hugs him reluctantly.
Michael and the crew are making a dash for the airport—barely dodging shooters and trains. They have someone on their trail Snapchatting their location to the ISIL folks. As the crew begins driving to the airport, they are hit by a car! They’ve been found. Luckily, they quickly head through a hospital for temporary shelter. The Freddie Mercury fan takes a seat to drink some good ole rubbing alcohol and watching Freddie Mercury videos. Also, Michael has a breakdown and apologizes to Lincoln for not reaching out to him.
Freddie Mercury guys is pouring rubbing alcohol all over their location while singing and they are heard by the guy who has been trailing them. He shoots Freddie Mercury, but is taken down shortly thereafter. Also, another one of their men (Who? Oh, Sid. Again, I don’t know any of these folks) is stabbed in the midst of everything and dies.
C-Note’s pilot buddy decides they are going to try to take off…without Michael and crew. Moments later, Lincoln calls to tell them to leave without them. C-Note apologizes. Sheba tries to give Lincoln a message, but he can’t understand her. Michael and crew take off running.
Overall: Overall, this was a good episode. Although the moments with Sarah are illogical, it was fun to watch. Also, we were able to see Lincoln and Michael’s reunion.
