HTGAWM: S4 E6 Stay Strong, Mama
Drama, drama, drama. This show is getting better by the week. Let's jump in!
Annalise: Annalise's former jail mate's family is in trouble--since her crime occurred in her mother's home, the city can seize that property. The woman has a spunky young son who is adorable and involved in advocating on her behalf, even in a press conference later, after DA Denver won't budge in trying to take the house. The press conference goes viral (great suggestion Connor!) and the family gets to keep their house. The mom convinces the others in jail to join back into the class action lawsuit.
Dr. Isaac: He gets his own section this week because he is struggling hard. He's zoning out on sessions and discussing several issues involved in Annalise's treatment in his own therapy session. His therapist encourages him to transfer Annalise to another therapist because she's such a trigger. Again, how??? Annalise eventually told him about the death of her son and a suicide attempt (where Bonnie saved her), but he was triggered before that reveal. At the end of the episode, we see him crying while watching what looks like a graduation video with his daughter (?) and his therapist (??). His therapist also shows up at Annalise's door at the end of the episode, introducing herself as Dr. Isaac's ex-wife. What is really going on?!?!?!
Bonnie: Bonnie gets credit from ADA Denver for prepping for the backlash following ADA Cross' firing. Not so fast with the celebration, Nate doesn't seem happy and we discover he's sabotaging Bonnie's case. Eventually, DA Denver reassigns her to a different case.
Keating 4: A week later at Caplan and Gold and no word has been said about the security breech Oliver and Michaela committed. However, Mr. Castillo is there unexpectedly to have a discussion about Antaris. He calls Laurel soon thereafter to schedule a dinner--and he tells her that Antaris is going public and she will be mega-rich for the rest of her life! At C&G, they are getting an all-new IT set up with even more security.
Asher and Michaela have presumably broken up! He shows up unannounced to her job (like everyone does! Luckily Tegan is fond of him) and confronts Michaela on her lie. Michaela fires back with another lie about being Laurel's birthing partner. However, Asher is not as dumb as they think--He shows up to Laurel's with a teddy bear, which has a camera. Michaela catches him packing his bag, they have an intense argument, and he bounces--fleeing to Bonnie's house.
Lastly, Connor seems to have his spark back in working with Annalise. Good for him!
Laurel: Outside of the above, Laurel's medial exam is going well and she requests a paternity test. Interesting! She has doubts!
Frank: Frank gets a high score on his LSAT! He professes his love for Laurel and tells her he'll be an amazing dad regardless of the paternity of the baby, and kisses her. Blah...
What happened to Laurel’s baby: In the flash forward, we see a bloody Annalise crying, full-clothed in a shower. WTH again!!!
Burning Questions: What is Nate's deal? Oh man...As I typed that I thought: What is Nate is one of the bodies???
Overall: It's fast forward from here, ya'll!! This episode set-up a lot for the winter finale, which will hopefully reveal a lot about Missing Baby Day. I'm okay with a Bon Bon-Asher reunion given Michaela's constant lies (and I loved them as a couple anyway). I'm over Frank and Laurel, but we'll see how it all plays out. Lastly, I thought Dr. Isaac was buddies with Mr. Castillo, but it doesn't look like that's the case anymore. What is his role in all of this?
