Foodie Files: Snooze
A few weeks ago, I was driving around Denver on a Sunday trying to find a nail salon that would remove my old acrylic nails. I thought it would be a simple feat, but apparently no one removes them. Ugh!! While driving around, I passed Snooze in the Southglenn Mall area. The line to get in was wrapped around the block! I took a mental note that I needed to check this place out.
Fast forward two weeks later (nails finally done!) and I ventured to Snooze early on a Sunday morning. A few patrons were playing on their corn hole outside and a few families were waiting, but not too bad. I check-in and they stated it would be a 25-minute wait still. I took the time to walk around the area and received a text that my table was ready.
Open for breakfast and brunch only, Snooze has a little something for everyone. From your classics to your not-so-classics. In the not-so-classics category, everyone around me was ordering the Pancake Flight—3 gourmet pancakes of your choice. I did not order, but I heard someone order a pineapple, strawberry, and their pancake of the day—PB&J. What?!?! A white chocolate chip filled PB&J pancake. Yum! Although I did not try any (rough football evening the night before), they had a wide array of mimosas, Bellini’s, and Bloody Mary’s to try for you hardcore brunchers.
I ordered the Corned Beef Hash. Hash browns with corned beef, poblano peppers and onions, with scrambled eggs and toast on the side. Their toast was served with their “jelly of the day” (so many specials!), a unique orange marmalade. Everything was cooked to perfection! The hash browns weren’t overdone. Sometimes corned beef is hit or miss, but this was perfectly flavored. Even the eggs were served with chives. Overall, I loved Snooze and it will definitely be a regular brunch spot.
