Turn Up the Music: Tory Lanez Concert
I was minding my own business when I saw on Facebook that Tory Lanez would be performing two shows in Colorado. Say It, LA Confidential, and LUV—all becoming hit singles from his debut album I Told You—have been in heavy rotation for me this year. I also recalled hearing that Tory gives a high energy live performance that’s worth seeing. Welp, I guess I’m going…
The Gothic Theatre in Englewood, CO was a nice, intimate theatre where everyone has a good place to see the stage. No comments on the opening acts--I think I'm getting a little old for this new R&B and don't get it.
Tory on the other had gave a great performance. He sang and rapped ALL of his songs (except my fav LA Confidential), which can sometimes be a rarity at some concerts. The reputation for a high-energy performance was accurate. He stage dived and surfed across the crowded, and eventually climbed up to both balconies twice! Insane. Tory's local were good and consistent throughout the concert, and the visuals on stage accompanied the feel and tone of the album, really highlighting his journey to fame.
Overall, Tory Lanez had a high energy performance which I appreciated and enjoyed. I hope his next album stays on track. Check out some clips on our IG!
P.S. Again, artists please chill on the stage smoke. I said this in the Alessia Cara concert review, but it gets overwhelming and doesn’t add a lot of effect. I could barely see you, boo! (And I apologize followers for the blurred photos)
