We Heart You: May 2017 Favorites

We wanted to start our Favorites series! Each month we will review and discuss products that we currently love. Here we go!

I love Lush products! Mostly I’ve dabbled in their skin care—purchases bath bombs and various scrubs. But I heard about the R&B Hair Moisturizer from several natural hair care forums and decided to give it a try during my latest haul (using my Christmas gift card). This moisturizer is outstanding! I suffer from a dry scalp which has worsened since moving to Denver. You can use the product on wet or dry hair, and when I use it on wet hair, each hair is well nourished. Additionally, it makes my curls instantly pop! And all you need is a dime size, so the product goes a long way. I will continue to purchase this product in the future.

I also picked up Lush’s Tea Tree Water spray. I have oily to combination skin. Again, a few quick sprays and my skin is completely matte!

To replenish my skin at night, I have been using Murad’s Essential-C Night Moisture. This product was recommended by my esthetician. It is stacked with tons of vitamins (Vitamins A, C, and E) and I wake up to supple skin in the morning. It also has some brightening properties which will help those (like me) with hyperpigmentation.

In order you have good skin, you have to take care of yourself both internally and externally. After several online recommendations, I picked up some Olly Vitamins. Olly is a quick growing brand of Vitamins and has been marketed heavily every time I go into Target. Per several recommendations, I picked up Olly Sleep and Olly Vibrant Skin (by accident, I wanted to the Undeniably Beauty, but picked that up this week when I ran out of Vibrant Skin). All of their vitamins come in yummy gummy forms which makes them easy to digest for individuals who don’t like those huge vitamins from other companies. I took the Olly Vibrant Skin for a month straight (two gummies a day) and noticed fewer breakouts (*Note: I increased my water intake during the last month as well). With Olly Sleep, I took those on night I had some difficulty shutting down. Within 30 minutes of taking Olly Sleep, I would become relaxed and quickly drift away due to the melatonin the vitamin. I did not need to take them every night and they didn’t leave me with the hangover feeling other sleep medications do. Olly Vitamins are the ones for me!

The Dog Treatery; $5.25

It’s been a while since Jax posted. His favorite of the month are The Dog Treatery’s Carob Chip Critter Cookies. They look and smell like chocolate chip cookies, but without real chocolate (which is toxic to dogs). Made of oatmeal and carob chips makes them a fun and unique treat. Jax gives these 4 Paws and a tail wag.
