Foodie Files: Wash Park Grille

This isn’t my first trip to Wash Park Grille. A couple of months ago, I had a work-related lunch there and it was fantastic! They have been on my mind since, so I decided to return for happy hour/early dinner.

For my appetizers, I ordered the Pineapple Infused Martini and the Fried Parmesan Cauliflower and Shishito Peppers. The cauliflower and peppers were lightly fried and tender. A unique combination that blended quite well together. My only criticism was the sauce was not very flavorful and did not add to the dish; however, I still enjoyed the appetizer as a whole.

For my main entrée, I ordered the half-portion Tuscan Lasagna. The ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese were smoothly and creamy throughout the thin layers of pasta. Between the layers are veal and Italian sausage with thin leaves of spinach. What really makes this lasagna unique is the roasted garlic cream sauce that blended well with the marinara. Incredible! Hands down one of my favorite pasta dishes of all time.

I had one more Pineapple Infused Martini before leaving because it was so delicious—just watch the vodka-infused pineapples because they are potent! I want to return to Wash Park Grille soon to sample other food items AND listen to their live music. Saturday nights they have a Jazz-Funk Series. I would highly recommend their happy hour for their great deals!
